
Any signals on a different frequency and/or at a very different signal strength will cause the radar detector to alert. Usually BSM’s are weak so it will create a small K band segment (+/- 5 MHz or less) and filter out any similar frequency signals of similar signal strength. When you come across a BSM false, you can mark it in the app and it will remember both the frequency and signal strength of the signal. The ARF is designed to be an in-car filter in case your own vehicle’s BSM’s causes your NR DSP to false, but it can also be used to filter out pesky BSM’s from other cars around like Hondas, Acuras, GM’s, Mazdas, etc.

This is like a slightly more sophisticated version of K band segmentation, designed to help filter out BSM’s. The big new feature is the new assisted radar filter (ARF) for Net Radar DSP owners.

Upon his arrival at the shop, we gave him a tour of the installation and offered a thorough explanation of how to use the system. With the radar detector installation complete and the system test done, we called the client to let him know he could pick up his Maserati. We finished the pod in a satin black paint that matches the blacked-out area on the windshield to complete the integrated look. We sculpted ABS plastic to form a housing, then opened up a mount for the control panel. In order to make the controller for the system inconspicuous yet easily accessible, we created a small mounting pod that attaches to the OEM trim bezel just above the rearview mirror. Custom Controller Installation The custom fabricated controller mount was mounted above the rearview mirror. This Tx sensor is mounted in the center of the grille and features three transmitters to help deal with hard-to-jam guns like the dreaded DragonEye.Īs always, the wiring for the antennae and sensors is protected with automotive-grade cloth tape, and everything is routed carefully and secured so that it won’t interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle.


We added a third sensor to the front of the vehicle.

We mounted two sensors on the rear of the vehicle and another pair in the front grille. Next on the menu was the installation of the laser sensor modules. In case you are curious, radar signals will pass through the plastic bumper covers with almost no attenuation. We mounted dedicated front and rear Net Radar DSP antennae directly to the vehicle to provide optimal X, K and Ka-band radar sensitivity. Our installation started with removing the front and rear bumper covers to provide unhindered access to the chassis. Protective tape was used to help protect the paint on the areas we came in contact with.
